Nothing inspires confidence like a transportation company implying that you better smash that RT button or you might die. Kinda like how Aunt Susie used to send you those emails like FWD:FWD:FWD:RE:RE:FWD:FWD:FWD:RE:RE:RE “if you don’t forward this to 9 people in 9 minutes you will die of a heart attack or a Ryan Whitney blog”. Except it’s not Aunt Susie. It’s fucking Amtrak. The only train company in the entire United States. Fuck them.
I despise Amtrak. They put zero effort into anything. Constant delays, crazy expensive to take, and despite it being 2018, absolutely no WiFi. They advertise WiFi, but it simply does not exist on those trains. The only good thing about Amtrak is how easy it is. No security, no assigned seats, and a quiet car. God bless the quiet car. But besides that, Amtrak is a piece of shit company with zero care for their customers because they have no competition. Shout out to government subsidized monopolies, am I right folks? How are we the only developed country without a bullet train? It’s unreal. We need Elon Musk to drop the bullshit and get his trains started. Put Amtrak right out of business. Or at least force them to be better. Bullet trains now, worrying about landing on Mars later.
