Introducing the #MIXINANUBAH campaign presented by D.A.D.D. (Donnie Against Drunk Driving)

Despite culturally educating the masses, I sometimes worry that my content doesn’t always have a net positive effect on society. When I first introduced the world to the term “Cranking Hoons” I would often get snaps from highs school age kids smoking cigarettes with the caption “Yo Donnie you got us on the hoons!” While Francis and I were doing shows this past summer, the main thing my masses of adoring fans wanted to do when I got off stage was hit the sidewalk and crank a few back. Here is a photo of me with some fellow Hoonigans.

Now I’m not trying to #HoonShame anyone. If you were a hoon cranker before my videos I’m glad I could make this time-honored pastime more enjoyable for you. However, knowing someone picked up the hoon sticks just because of my videos isn’t the best feeling. To help counteract the negative social impact of the national Hoonapalooza I helped start, I’ve decided to launch D.A.D.D.(Donnie Against Drunk Driving).

Drunk driving is no joke and on a more serious note I never had a chance to meet my mom’s father as he was taken from us  in a drunk driving accident shortly before I was born (both the driver of his car and the driver of the car that collided with them had been drinking). D.A.D.D.’s first order of business is the #MIXINANUBAH(Mix In An Uber)  Campaign. Despite decimating the taxi industry, Ubers are a blessing. If you grew up in a smaller town far away from public transportation options, there was often no way to get home safe after a night of drinking besides a designated driver and I feel like those exist more in movies than real life. However, now Ubers or Lyft can be found all over the country even if you live far away from a metropolitan area. So the next time you see your drunk friend try to get behind the wheel just simply yell “Hey buddy, Mixinanubah!”

And if for some reason there are no Ubers around at the very least have your buddy “Mixinawatah!”(or ten waters) and wait till they sober up. Have a great and safe weekend everybody! Remember what your D.A.D.D. taught you.
