Grading the Newest Sex Scandal Teacher
California – A man who was molested by a female teacher when he was 15 has been awarded $2.1million by a California jury.
Former Crawford High School Spanish teacher Toni Sutton was sentenced to two years in prison in 2016 for sexually abusing a student identified as James Doe over an eight-month period beginning in 2015 when he was 15 and she was 37.
Sutton reportedly had sex with Doe dozens of times in her classroom with the door locked while the student was supposed to be in class, as well as in her car and in the home that she shared with her boyfriend and their children.
According to Doe’s attorneys, several other teachers at the school were aware of the sexual relationship months before Sutton was arrested.
On multiple occasions teachers had emailed Sutton asking where Doe was, and she replied that he was with her.
Doe’s attorney’s claim that school administrators knew that the student’s attendance was poor, but seemingly didn’t look into it.
Court documents and testimony indicate that administrators had previously told Sutton to stop spending so much personal time with students and not to share explicit personal details with them.
However, administrators never followed up to ensure that Sutton’s inappropriate behavior ceased, Doe’s legal team said.
If there’s one rule that has very few exceptions, it’s the one that says you don’t want to follow a legend, you want to follow the one who followed the legend. You don’t release your perfectly serviceable action movie the weekend after Mission Impossible: Fallout. Don’t take over a coaching job from Bill Parcells. Don’t go out with a woman who just got out of a relationship with a porn star. I can say with confidence I’m a good comic who’ll give you a solid 25-35 minutes and will get the job done even in a tough room. But don’t put me up after Bill Burr just set fire to the room. It’s why teams retire numbers.
And it’s why I’m posting Toni Sutton so soon after Amanda Eckblad just raised the Sex Scandal Teacher bar (and yours, no doubt) so impossibly high.
I’m still getting stopped by Stoolies commenting on Amanda. Someone from her hometown contacted me to say she’s from Amanda’s hometown and most of her family works for the Sheriff’s Department, which is going to make the sex tape the police have in evidence that much more awkward. And virtually no one I could post here to take you into the weekend could even come close to her in the Looks department. So instead, I present you with a story where the teenage sex partner in question will get $2.1 million for his trouble. Just as a sort of buffer so when I come back with another GtNSST, the really tough act has already been followed. Just know that I’m never not thinking of the greater good with these posts.

Moral Compass/Bad Judgment: Let’s review. This kid got to have sex in the classroom dozens of times with his 37-year-old teacher. Bone her in her car. In her house. Get driven around town. Cut classes without an excuse. While all his other teachers knew what he was doing. And he gets two million bucks. What a success story. America, land that I love.
