The Charlotte Hornets Bringing Back Their Classic White Retro Jerseys Is Big Fire

Let’s go! What a great move by the Hornets as a way to celebrate their 30th year in the NBA. If you’re a young stoolie you may not recognize these bad boys, but they are a slightly updated version of a great time in the NBA in terms of jerseys, especially for the Hornets

I also love the away ones as well, but the whites are still very much big fire. If you were an NBA fan in the late 80s-90s you remember just how awesome these were to see in person, and how legit the Hornets bomber jacket was also. To be honest, the Hornets as well as some other teams in the league should just realize that their retro jerseys would still play in today’s world and rock these permanently. As of now I guess the plan is to have them for at least 6 games, but that doesn’t feel like nearly enough. This news also got me thinking of what teams I would like to see make their retro jerseys part of their regular rotation. Here’s a few that came to mind, in no particular order

1. Denver

2. Phoenix

3. Toronto

4. Detroit

5. Rockets

In my humble opinion, the league needs more retro jersey appearances. Not only will it remind the older fans of the glory days of the league, but it will also introduce a look to younger fans they may not be aware of. Also it’s hard to find a team with a bad retro jersey. I could argue some of these new look Nike ones are waaaaaaaay worse which is why maybe the league shouldn’t overthink this. Let Nike tweak them slightly but give the people what they want, and a retro jersey celebration is absolutely on that list.

Hornets will still probably stink, but at least they’ll look fresh as hell
