Wake Up With The Training Techniques That Produced Back-To-Back-To-Back AAU National Championship Teams - The Tom Emanski Instructional Video
Have you ever wanted to learn how to throw a baseball into a trashcan from 300 feet away? Have you ever wanted to pass a ball around on the ground while standing in a circle? Have you ever wanted to win back-to-back-to-back AAU National Championship baseball teams? Boy do I have the VHS for you, the Tom Emanski Defensive Drills videotape.
I swear I saw this commercial at least 6 time a day during the ’90s. It was always on ESPN or on during an Orioles game on HTS. Everyone in your neighborhood knew this commercial, each baseball practice we’d do the stop motion throwing drill, we used to try and throw the ball in the trashcan (never got it in), this was the baseball players bible on tape. Emanski was a god when it came to baseball fundamentals.
We never bought the tape so we only did the exercises they showed in the commercial, come to think of it, I don’t know anyone who actually bought it. I do know that my softball team now, “Tater Town”, tried to make our name the “Tom Emanski All-Stars”, but the printing company wouldn’t put that name on our shirts. Just an all around classic commercial.
I can’t figure out what if the best part of the video, the trash can drill, the kids turning 2, Fred McGriff’s tall ass hat just sitting on his head and his Raffy Palmiero finger point to the camera, or the “back-to-back-to-back AAU National Champions” line. Just so many classic things in this video, I mean I will never not laugh at “back-to-back-to-back”, same with McGriff’s hat. This was just a classic ’90s commercial and will actually never get old.
Fun fact- now you don’t have to spend $29.99 for the tape, it’s right here on Youtube.
