Jerry Seinfeld And Cardi B Were Brilliant On Zach Galifianakis' "Between Two Ferns"
Jerry Seinfeld has aged like a fine Bordeaux. He has embraced the ornery, impatient, suffer-no-fools comedian image that characterized David Letterman throughout his career. I suppose that once you reach their level of fame and accomplishment, it sucks to talk to anyone who isn’t another brilliant comedian. They’ve been asked the same questions and have had fans shout the same things at them a thousand times. It’s no wonder they rarely make public appearances.
What I love about Seinfeld on Between Two Ferns is that it’s impossible to know what is real and what isn’t. I believe that a lot of this was improvised. Obviously he knows the gimmick, but the fact that he chooses not to even respond to some of Galifianakis’ questions made me laugh. Zach also chooses all the same insults that Seinfeld has heard a thousand times. The Bee movie segment was great, but Seinfeld’s response about the Hangover movies was even better. I didn’t really care for Galifianakis’ response about the yacht club, or the Newman bit. But the Cardi B stuff was really funny and led to the best line of the entire piece: “that was the opposite of what happened with Keisha.”
I love this web series. Can’t wait for more. And here’s my favorite of all time:
