This 13 Minute Short Film About How Action Park Was The Most Dangerous Amusement Park Ever Is Damn Near Must Watch For People From The Tri-State Area

This video isn’t new. In fact, KFC blogged it 5 years ago. But I must have missed that blog because today was the first time I heard of it. I was talking to my brother yesterday and he said he saw friend of the program Johnnie Knoxville’s new movie Action Point, which was apparently based on Action Park. It got us talking about water parks we went to as a kid and he said that video was a Must Watch. And holy shit was he right.

I never went to Action Park as a kid and now I know why. I didn’t realize it at the time because I only read the sports section of the newspaper and the internet was barely a thing. But Action Park was pretty much Itchy & Scratch Land with water rides. Being a parent myself, I have learned that you grow fond of your kids and don’t want them dying. Which is apparently was not an uncommon thing at Action Park. That stat about Action Park being closed for 20 years and STILL having the most deaths is crazytown. Shit, all of the stats they mention are like reading Barry Bonds’ Baseball Reference page, from 100 people almost drowning the first day the wave pool opened, to 14 year olds being asked to save them, and oh yeah this nightmare trap that must have been created by Sid from Toy Story while he played Water Park Tycoon.

Again, you know your amusement park was fucked up when JOHNNIE FUCKING KNOXVILLE makes a movie based on said amusement park.

But I can’t lie, I do feel like I am missing some #grit by not visiting Action Park during its heyday. I’m a self described pussy. Charmin soft. Maybe putting my safety in my own hands as I rode down a concrete hill with no brakes after I drank a few Budweisers and smoked a few bowls with the teenage lifeguards would have toughened me up instead of becoming the cream cheese smut blogger you see before you today. I guess the world will never know.
